Angus Robertson MP

Angus Robertson represents Moray constituency as a Scottish National Party (SNP) MP in the Westminster Parliament. He is the Scottish Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and Westminster SNP spokesman on Defence and Europe.

He is Founder of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the South Caucasus. He is also a member of the European Scrutiny Committee, Vice-Chairman of the All Party Whisky Group, Vice-Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the RAF, Vice-Chairman of the All Party Offshore Oil and Gas Group, member of the All Party Fisheries Group and participant in the Parliamentary Armed Forces Scheme.

Angus was born in London in 1969 and brought up in Edinburgh. He was educated at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, where he completed an MA Honours in Politics and International Relations. He then began his journalistic career, working as a foreign and diplomatic correspondent in central Europe for the BBC, Austrian Radio and other leading broadcasters. He went on to serve as news editor for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation.

Angus returned to the UK in 1998 to help the SNP fight the first elections to the Scottish Parliament. Before his election in June 2001 he was the European and International Affairs Adviser to the SNP group in the Scottish Parliament.
 
Angus is Scotland's youngest MP and was rated Scotland's 'hardest working MP' according to House of Commons statistics during the first parliamentary session.
