Rt Hon Sir Menzies Campbell CBE QC MP
Sir Menzies Campbell is Member of Parliament for North East Fife and was Leader of the Liberal Democrats from 2 March 2006 until 15 October 2007.
Menzies Campbell was educated at Hillhead High School, Glasgow and Glasgow University, and Stanford University, California. USA.
He competed in 1964 Olympic and1966 Commonwealth Games. He was Captain of the UK athletics team 1965-6 and holder of the UK 100 metres record from 1967-74.
He was called to Bar (Scotland) in 1968 and was Advocate Depute in the Crown Office from 1977-80. He was appointed Queen's Counsel (Scotland) 1982.
He was elected Member of Parliament for North East Fife in June 1987.
He was Liberal Democrat Foreign Affairs & Defence Spokesperson 1992-7. Until his election as Leader in March 2006, he was the Liberal Democrat's Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs and Deputy Leader.
