June 2011 - 2006 Fellow Alex Goncharenko is appointed, by presidential decree, a Member of the Ukrainian delegation to the Congress of the Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
March 2011 - The John Smith Memorial Trust is delighted to announce that Sergii Andrushko, Taras Berezovets, Marina Cherenkova and Ostap Kryvdyk have been awarded a place on the 2011 John Smith Fellowship Programme. They will travel to the UK in June as 2011 John Smith Fellows.

Trust Director Brian Brivati travelled to the Ukrainian capital Kiev to promote the work of the Trust and to encourage talented young leaders to apply to its prestigious 2011 John Smith Fellowship Programme. Brian’s visit received a great deal of media attention providing an excellent opportunity to distribute information about the Programme and to spread the word to as many people as possible about the application process. November 2010 - The John Smith Memorial Trust will be conducting a series of online seminars during the week commencing 22nd November in which the Trust's Director Brian Brivati will answer your questions about the application process and the Fellowship Programme. John Grogan MP and new Trust Deputy Director Natalia Westcombe to visit Kiev
The Trust's new Deputy Director Natalia Westcombe is to travel to Ukraine with a UK parliamentary delegation from the 8th-12th September 2008. John Grogan MP (Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Ukraine Group), Natalia Westcombe and the delegation will attend a number of meetings at the Ukrainian parliament and will also meet with many John Smith alumni. Natalia will be promoting the work of the Trust and encouraging talented young leaders to apply to the 2009 Fellowship Programme.
