Vitali Gatseliuk

Vitali is Chief Consultant of the Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement of the Ukrainian Parliament. The Committee is responsible for the Parliamentary oversight of criminal law, legislation of administrative offences, the organisation and operation of the Procuracy, state inquiry and investigation organisations, prison services and other legal bodies.
Vitali is responsible for drafting legislation relating to all areas of the work of the Committee and amending the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He provides consultative support to Committee projects that address new aspects of state policy. For example, he is currently gathering data on environmental problems and analysing the liability for environmental offences. During the last year, Vitali participated in organising six Committee hearings and round tables dedicated to the following issues:
• Prevention of People Trafficking
• The new draft law on the Procuracy in Ukraine
• Reform of the Probation system in Ukraine
• Review of the management of internal affairs policy
• Illegal mergers and acquisitions in Ukraine
• Tackling sexual exploitation and abuse of children
