Svitlana Zalishchuk

Svitlana is Deputy Chairman and Director of Programmes at Centre UA http://www.uacentre.org.ua/
She manages two types of project - those that seek to promote the European and Euro Atlantic integration of Ukraine and those devoted to the development of civil society. A large part of her work involves developing the public diplomacy of Ukraine in European capitals and encouraging active dialogue between Ukrainian and European NGOs. The Centre UA also works regionally, promoting cohesion and cooperation between different areas of Ukraine.
Svitlana is an initiator and coordinator of the New Citizen Public campaign www.newcitizen.org.ua, which unites more than 50 Ukrainian NGOs. The aim of the project is to enhance the influence of citizens over politics and politicians.
At the time of the 2008 Fellowship Programme, Svitlana was Secretary of the National Commission for Freedom of Speech and Development of Information (Secretariat of the President of Ukraine).
