Musa Magomadov

Musa is employed by the state institution the Chechen Centre of Standardization, Metrology and Certification (CCSMC). He holds the position of Secretary of the Republican Inter-Departmental Commission for safety of goods and services in the Chechen Republic.
In this role he prepares round table discussions with bodies of the executive branch of the government and organizes site visits with media representatives and other members of the commission to stores and companies providing services or selling goods unsafely.
In this challenging position, Musa is well placed to implement health and safety reforms and to contribute to consumer rights development in the Chechen Republic. His aim in the UK is to explore the system for enforcing codes of health and safety and standards of weights and measures in the retail sector. His view is that the demand by consumers for their basic rights in these areas can form a building block for the assertion of greater civil and political rights.
He is Director of Dexter Group translation services and President of the English Club at the Grozny State Oil Institute. In 2009 he ran for an office in Grozny city council.
