Natacha Sarkis

2011 MENA Fellow, Lebanon

Natacha has worked for the Lebanese Transparency Association since 1998, her current role involves project managing the set-up of the Lebanese Advocacy and Legal Advice Center. Previous projects she has worked on have included, Monitoring Municipal Elections, the Campaign Finance Monitoring Project and the National Integrity System Project.

In addition, Natacha is a Prime Consultant on Enhancing Transparency in Political Finance in the Arab Region for the Arab Regions Parliamentarians Against Corruption (ARPAC). Natacha also has a Masters level in Analysis and Economic Policies from Montpellier 1 University, France.

Natacha is very interested in the promotion of transparency and accountability within the public sector and among public servants in Lebanon.

She aims to use her John Smith Fellowship to learn how she can:

• Raise better awareness among public servants on their rights, and duties;
• Build their knowledge around official resources;
• Encourage public servants to make proper use of official resources;
• Empower civil society and media institutions to monitor the use of official resources by public servants and denounce abuses.
