Nana Rukhadze

Nana works for SOS Children’s Villages Georgia as a National Family Strengthening Program Manager. SOS Children’s Villages Georgia provides care and support to children deprived or at risk of losing parental care by means of Family Strengthening, Family Based-Care and Education Programmes. The association actively collaborates with state, governmental and non-governmental organizations to advocate for the rights of children and their families. The association was established in Georgia in 1989 and became a member of the umbrella organization - SOS Kinderdorf - International in 1998.

Nana’s role is to manage the Family Strengthening Programme, focused on the provision of support to children who are at risk of abandonment or living in poverty. Through this programme, Nana and her team work to identify and address the needs of socially needy children and their families by providing psycho-social, medical, educational, legal, cultural, professional development and employment assistance in cooperation with other governmental/non-governmental, national and international stakeholders such as the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Ministry of Education and Science, World Vision Georgia, Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association, and others.
She is a Lecturer in Social Advocacy at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
