Fariz Ismailzade

Fariz divides his time between a number of jobs. In October 2011, he was appointed as Executive Vice Rector of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA). He was previously Executive Dean of the ADA and Director of its Advanced Foreign Service Programme. The AFSP is an executive training program for diplomats and other civil servants working in the area of international affairs. He is a moderator of the ADA Majlis, a new foreign policy discussion forum at the Academy.
As Founding Chairman of the American Alumni Association (AAA) Fariz organises educational and charity events, policy study programmes and political training sessions.
Fariz writes prolifically for several public policy journals, analysing political and economic developments in Azerbaijan and the region. He is a reporter and analyst of the Jamestown Foundation and a freelance reporter for the Johns Hopkins University’s Central Asia-Caucasus Institute.
