Sona Ayvazyan

Sona is a Founding Member and Board Member of the Transparency International Anti-corruption Centre (TI AC), a local NGO that is accredited to represent the Transparency International (TI) global anti-corruption movement in Armenia. TI is an international NGO and its  Berlin-based Secretariat coordinates anti-corruption activities in more than 90 countries of the world through its national chapters. The chapters are independent local NGOs free to develop their own polices. The Anti-corruption Centre's activities include research, supporting economic and social reforms in Armenia and the region; monitoring and evaluating of policy reforms; advocacy and lobbying for policy change; organising public awareness campaigns and building civil society capacity to participate in policy-making and governance matters.

Sona acts as TIAC’s Environmental Policy Expert, coordinating activities in the field of environmental governance and promoting the UNECE Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters (Aarhus Convention). She also leads projects on Monitoring of Urban Development in Yerevan City and Increasing the Integrity of Mineral Resource Management.
