Gayane Hovakimyan

Gayane is studying for a PHD in Sociology at Yerevan State University.
Gayane works for the Armenian Ministry of Justice as the Chief Expert in the Criminal Executive Department. The Criminal Executive Department works to rehabilitate offenders and aid their reintegration back into society. New divisions have been established in all prisons in Armenia to provide social, psychological and legal services for prisoners. Gayane is responsible for supervising these divisions and providing training and guidance to their staff. She works with external organisations to develop crime prevention and reintegration programmes and assists in the design of future policy for the prison system.
