Firuza is the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Firuza is particularly interested in the protection of women´s rights. Prior to working at the ADA Firuza worked as a psychologist, where she specialised in counselling women who had been victims of abuse, discrimination, moral pressure and physical violence. She has a PhD in Social Psychology from Baku State University. In her current role at the ADA Firuza works closely with parents, particularly in rural areas of Azerbaijan, encouraging them to send their daughters to school.
In Azerbaijan early marriage (under 18 years) is still a big problem for women and children. Firuza´s action plan, therefore, proposes to implement awareness activities including regular consultation courses in high schools throughout Azerbaijan to prevent early marriages and protect children´s and women´s rights.
